Our Story
The agency was founded in 2004 by our CEO, Robert Cornelius. Oklahoma Family Counseling Services and Southern Plains Treatment Services are sister companies that have provided outpatient and residential behavioral health services to adolescents and families in Oklahoma for over 20 years. In 2014, the agency made the decision to partner with state agencies, OJA and DHS to serve a complex level of youth in custody.
Message From Our CEO
Dear Families, Partners, and Community Members,
We are committed to ensuring people with intellectual, developmental, and psychiatric disabilities receive the highest quality of care. The continued evolution of OKCYC has resulted from improvements in clinical care, safety, and overall experience for our team members and their families. We believe that exceptional behavioral health must include a focus on a person’s full potential – both inside and outside the classroom.
We are committed to accelerating the continued adoption of outcomes-driven reporting to elevate the value, transparency, and accountability of our work for all, from individuals and families served to providers, funders and community partners. Truly, we are charting a new course, with enhancements to support our field’s forward momentum in the years to come. While the scope and complexity of our industry continues to evolve, OKCYC’s promise of high-quality, evidence-based treatment and compassionate care has never been stronger.
I am incredibly grateful to our growing network of supporters who enable us to continue this rewarding, service-minded work. Thank you for helping OKCYC build even stronger bonds between our families – and our communities.
Sincerely,
Robert Cornelius, MHR
